Call of Duty: Black Ops 7 was shown off at this year’s Gamescom, and while it looks solid, it’s making some big changes.
Some of these changes might not go down well with fans, especially one that’ll prevent you from carrying forward your Operator skins from the previous game.
Operator skins are special cosmetics to give your multiplayer character some personalisation on the battlefield, and have also been integral for collaborations with other IPs.
In the current Call Of Duty multiplayer, you can’t move for goofy skins like the Teenage Mutant Ninja Turtles, Rick and Morty, even other video game collaborations like one that brought Tomb Raider’s Lara Croft back into the fray.

While they’re only cosmetic changes and make no difference in gameplay, fans have noted how ridiculous Call Of Duty has become in terms of visuals, especially compared to the likes of the newly unveiled Battlefield 6.
Apparently Activision has been listening though as it recently cancelled Carry Forward for Call Of Duty: Black Ops 7 so it can get back to basics.
"We know there’s been a lot of conversation recently about the identity of Call of Duty,” began the company’s statement. "Some of you have said we’ve drifted from what made Call of Duty unique in the first place: immersive, intense, visceral and in many ways grounded. That feedback hits home, and we take it seriously. We hear you."
While Operator skins won’t be carried forward, any Double XP tokens or GobbleGums acquired in Call Of Duty: Black Ops 6 will, so you won’t lose those.

This should only affect the Black Ops 7 multiplayer only too. If Warzone continues, your skins should still be usable there with no issue.
Now I’ve got no horse in this race as I’m not a big Call Of Duty fan, but from my perspective, this seems like a win for fans so it’ll be interesting to see what the response from the community will be like to this change.
