Red Dead Redemption 2 players can finally enjoy a missing gameplay feature, and it might completely change how you play the game.
Rockstar Games is known for its large attention to detail and expansive gameplay mechanics, and Red Dead Redemption 2 has been no exception to that.
Even keeping that in mind, some features were obviously cut, either to save on development time or because they simply didn’t fit with Rockstar’s vision for the game.
One of these is the ability to get on all fours and crawl around. Funnily enough, despite the ability to go prone being quite common in most open world games, Rockstar doesn’t really do that.

Grand Theft Auto and Red Dead Redemption allow you to crouch, but they don’t let you go prone. It’s just not simply needed.
The only Rockstar game I can think of that lets you do that is Max Payne 3, however, you mostly remain stationary and can’t actually crawl around in that state.
However, there now exists a new mod for Red Dead Redemption 2 that lets you dive, crawl and shoot from the floor. And it actually has some gameplay advantages too.
'Dive - Crawl N' Gun' by Red Dead modder 14N001st adds the ability for Arthur to go prone and crawl.

There are actually quite a few fully fleshed out features here. In addition to getting down on your knees and crawling around, you can also dive to go prone, and even shoot while doing so.
The mod also adds a dedicated stealth mode while prone, and it should provide better cover for you than if you were crouching. While in this new stealth mode, you’ll make significantly less noise and be able to sneak up on unaware enemies.
Unique animations and player behaviour also populates the mod, and it really feels like 14N001st has thought everything through while designing it.
You can download 'Dive - Crawl N' Gun' for Red Dead Redemption 2 from Nexus Mods now.
