Xbox's Surprise New Fallout Release You'll Want Immediately

Every day there seems to be something new to talk about related to the Fallout franchise, even if we almost certainly aren't going to get the next game in the mainline series anytime soon.

The release of the second season of the Prime Video series is set to go ahead on 17 December, bringing us back to New Vegas for the first time in any form since the release of the Obsidian Entertainment original.

Alongside that, Fallout 4 just got a slightly dodgy Anniversary Edition (that has since improved a fair bit) and persistent rumours continue to swirl that Bethesda is planning to shadow drop a Fallout 3 remake at some point.

It turns out the fun isn't stopping there either, with two brand new controllers on the way that might be some of the nicest looking game pads ever put out for the console.

Xbox has revealed two brand new Fallout-themed controllers that really are some of the the prettiest I have seen for this generation of the console.

The two new game pads are coming via the Xbox Design Lab, which has been on a solid run in recent times, with these latest products clearly designed to coincide with the re-arrival of the show.

The design of the controller features the iconic Pip-Boy status screen, where you can check your body health and heal individual limbs, only this time highlighting the button mapping for Fallout games.

Two versions are available, with the Standard Wireless and Elite Wireless versions available for purchase at $79.99/£82.01 and $169.99 / £131.78 respectively, plus an additional $14.99 / £12.98 for the new shell design.

Now obviously that isn't cheap, but it isn't much more expensive than just buying the basic black version, so if you're in the market for a new pad anyway, then these are pretty cool options.

Even better than that, the Xbox Design Lab allows players to choose a ton of customisation options when picking up a product from their store, so if you're willing to part with the extra cash, you really can get your dream controller.

If that doesn't take your fancy but you're still looking for a Fallout-themed game pad, the Xbox Design Lab Fallout Vault-Tec Shell is also available for the same price for both versions. That features a very unique design with hundreds of Vault-Boy's on it, and it's also pretty sweet.
