Fallout Players Can Claim Two Free Games, Prepare For New Season

I do actually want to set the world on fire

The second season of Prime Video’s Fallout series adaptation is set to debut onto the streaming service on 17 December, and with that excitement ramping up, it's the perfect time to jump back into some of the games and refamiliarise ourselves with what made them so popular in the first place.

While the 3D era of Fallout games is definitely the most popular these days, it's easy to forget the series started with the original releases, in Fallout and Fallout 2.

Developed by interplay, the first two releases in the series are played from a top-down trimetric perspective, and while it can take a bit of getting used to in 2025, it's actually a really refreshing experience if you give it the time to get its claws in.

We can also understand why you might not want to spend some of your hard earned cash on games of that age, but fortunately there is a way you can get your hands on them at no extra cost, if you're already signed up to Amazon Prime.

Fallout and Fallout 2 on Amazon Luna

The monthly offering of free games used to come under the banner of Prime Gaming though it's now referred to by the company as part of its wider Amazon Luna service which is usually more focused on streaming games.

The deal hasn't changed though and every month, throughout the month, subscribers are granted the opportunity to download and keep games until we tip over into the next section of the calendar.

As first reported by VGC, in December, Fallout and Fallout 2 make up part of that, and it's a great opportunity to get your hands on some brilliant games without spending anything extra. The only potential caveat is that you will need a GOG account, as it's via that storefront that the games are claimed.

If, for some reason, those don't take your fancy there are a wide variety of other releases from across the genres that might be worth a second look. The full list is as follows:

Available now

  • Lego 2K Drive (Epic Games Store)
  • Forgotten Realms: The Archives – Collection One (GOG)
  • GYLT (Amazon Games App)

December 11

  • Forgotten Realms: The Archives – Collection Two (GOG)
  • Christmas Adventure: Candy Storm (Legacy Games)

December 18

  • Bo: Path of the Teal Lotus (GOG)
  • Gunslugs 2 (GOG)
  • Ashworld (GOG)
  • Forgotten Realms: The Archives – Collection Three (GOG)

December 23

  • Fallout (GOG)
  • Fallout 2 (GOG)

December 30

  • Deus Ex: Mankind Divided (Epic Games Store)
  • Dreamscaper (Epic Games Store)
  • Living Legends: The Crystal Tear – Collector’s Edition (Amazon Games App)

All of these will go away at the end of the month, so make sure to get everything you want before then.
