Fallout is all the rage nowadays and that’s largely due to the success of Amazon Prime’s live-action TV adaptation.
Fallout Season 2 has been a little bit controversial though, as it took on the monumental task of adapting Fallout: New Vegas, several years after the our character first walked the wastelands.
I think it’s done a fine job so far though and with the finale dropping next week, Bethesda has decided to bless us with a freebie that’s actually worth our time…
It’s also worth mentioning that if you haven’t seen Fallout yet the entire first season is being dropped on YouTube for free.
Fallout 76 Is Good Now, Hear Me Out.
Fallout 76 was abysmal at launch. I remember playing it for a couple of hours and just having the most miserable time.
Advert
But, like other gaming redemption stories such as No Man’s Sky and Cyberpunk 2077, the multiplayer RPG has come a long way.
Now, players can now experience just how far it’s come for free.

It’ll remain free-to-play until 5 February, which just so happens to be Season 2’s finale, now ain’t that a coincidence?

I’ve been playing it again myself and can personally assure you that it’s at least worth a look.
When you first emerge from your vault you’re even given the option to immediately jump to Level 20 which will put you on better footing for some of the content and expansions that have been added over the years.
For Fallout TV show fans there’s even an expansion that sees you team-up with The Ghoul, with Walton Goggins reprising his role.
Mojave Money Grab
As lovely as it is to play Fallout 76 for free Bethesda continues to adopt a strange monkey’s paw approach when it decides to do something nice.
While Fallout 76 is free-to-play a new DLC pack has been dropped alongside and it’s themed around the Mojave from New Vegas.
For £26 you’ll get the power armour seen in the latest episode of Fallout, Lanius Legate’s armour and some NCR/Legion flags to display at your base.
There’s even a New Vegas neon sign thrown in for good measure.
These are cool editions but costly ones at that, and as much as I’ve been loving Season 2 and adore New Vegas even I’m reluctant to drop nearly £30 on cosmetics that should be in the game for free.
