For seemingly no discernible reason, Amazon, in all their wisdom, have decided that we deserve to watch the last two episodes of Fallout early.
How early, you ask? Well, not early enough that folks in the United Kingdom can watch it before it’s dark out, but early enough that we’ll be able to get our hands on it in less than 24 hours.
I’m going to make an incredibly brave statement; the second season of Fallout has been pretty darn good so far.
I mean, really, I expected nothing less considering the quality of the first season, but at least it didn’t go the way of HBO’s The Last of Us TV show.

However, there’s one thing that I’m still undecided on regarding season 2: Amazon’s release schedule.
As I’m sure you all remember, the entirety of Fallout’s first season dropped in one go.
While I understand why Amazon decided to pivot to a weekly release schedule instead, I can’t help but feel as if some of the critiques about the second season “ruining the canon” might have been avoided if every episode had released in the same week.

Perhaps this is why Amazon has opted to release the next two episodes of Fallout a day earlier on Prime, as confirmed last night by the official @falloutonprime X account.
Now, unfortunately, this still means we’re going to have to stay up until 2 am to watch it in the UK, as it’s only come forward by exactly 24 hours.
On the plus side, maybe some folks in the United States won’t realise it’s come out early and therefore won’t be able to immediately spoil what happens in the episode as soon as it airs (I will never forgive you, random dude on Twitter who spoiled Episode 6 for me).

Seriously though, why has Amazon decided to move this forward by a day? I’ve been racking my brain trying to figure out a reason, and I’m coming up with nothing.
My best guess is that there’s something happening on February 4th that Amazon didn’t want to clash with.
Although saying that, my house could be on fire, and I’d probably finish watching the episode before I evacuated, so I have no clue what could be important enough to warrant it being pushed forward.
Unless… maybe those Fallout 3/Fallout: New Vegas remasters are at risk of being leaked early? Just a theory (based on absolutely zero evidence).
