The best Cyberpunk 2077 mods are ones that overhaul various gameplay systems and features to make the game feel more alive.
CD Projekt Red has done an excellent job at portraying Night City as this living, breathing metropolis with plenty of activities to do. But there are always some things that feel as if they could be improved.
These mods do exactly that by changing various features or fixing certain issues that players have had with the game since launch to improve the experience.
From overhauls to the way gangs operate to increases of the level cap, there’s a lot here that’ll do wonders for your next playthrough.

The best Cyberpunk 2077 mods to use in 2026
1. Immersive Third Person
Immersive Third Person is a mod that not only adds a third-person camera for you to see your character in full detail, but also includes several new animations that are completely separate from the first-person camera.
This includes idle animations, along with ones for running, climbing, and walking. It adds a little more immersion if you prefer playing your RPGs in third-person mode and also want your character to feel like they blend in better with the world.

2. New Level Cap
The current level cap in Cyberpunk 2077 is Level 50 (or 60 if you have the Phantom Liberty expansion), but this mod increases that to 80.
This will allow you to unlock and utilise all perks, allowing for greater versatility in how you build your own V. To counter this, the mod also keeps the game appropriately balanced by scaling the difficulty to your current level.

3. They Will Remember
In vanilla Cyberpunk 2077, gangs seem to have a very short-term memory, and forget your acts of violence against them and carry on as if nothing had happened.
They Will Remember overhauls the gangs populating Night City by adding a bunch of new systems for you to engage in, with improvements like reputation, reinforcements, retaliation, relationships, and disguise systems which flesh out the experience.

4. Limited HUD
The HUD (heads-up display) in Cyberpunk 2077 can be a little busy at times, but this mod overhauls it so it’s giving you less of a hard time understanding it.
This doesn’t just mean disabling certain UI elements, but also allowing certain parts of the HUD to appear when they’re needed, and removing them when not. There’s also a hotkey system to activate or disable certain UI elements at the press of a button.

5. Cyberware-EX
One of the biggest limitations of Cyberpunk 2077’s cyberware systems is the ability to only have one operating system installed, which can be disappointing if you want to take advantage of multiple mods for your cybernetic body but can only equip one.
Cyberware-EX does away with this by allowing you to install slot expansions to your operating system, effectively allowing you to have Cyberdeck, Sandevistan, and Berserk installed at the same time.

6. Night City Alive
Cyberpunk 2077 fans are pretty consistent in praising CD Projekt Red for making Night City feel alive, but there are a few aspects that could still be improved upon to make the whole place feel authentic and lived-in.
Night City Alive adds some new behaviours and features that help with this, where the city starts to feel a little less static, where gang members and motorcycles join traffic, and civilians become more responsive to crimes you commit. The police may also react differently depending on your affiliation with certain gangs.

7. Ragdoll Physics Overhaul
While the ragdoll physics and death animations in Cyberpunk 2077 may sometimes feel a little stiff, this mod changes things to bring a bit more variety to the game.
Ragdoll Physics Overhaul completely changes the flexibility of these ragdolls, while also fixing collision issues and adding a greater variety of resting poses and procedural animations.

8. Better Vehicle Handling
Improve your driving in Cyberpunk 2077 with the Better Vehicle Handling mod, which makes cars handle a bit better.
Easier turns, better braking, and other small improvements should make driving a little less frustrating, so you can cruise around Night City without feeling frustrated by the way these vehicles handle.

9. Stealthrunner
For those who enjoy playing stealthy characters in Cyberpunk 2077, Stealthrunner is a mod that adds stealth-related objectives to every applicable main quest, side quest, gig, and NCPD scanner hustle.
The aim here is to motivate and reward stealthy gameplay, if that’s the kind of playstyle you want to adhere to. However, the important thing here is that it does not change the stealth gameplay itself, but rather just the systems that reward you around it.

10. Deceptious Bug Fixes
For a game as massive as Cyberpunk 2077, we all have to accept that there are going to be a few issues and bugs that have made it into the game which CD Projekt Red has been unable to fix.
Deceptious Bug Fixes make some improvements by addressing these bugs, allowing things like scripting errors, visual glitches, and other problems to be resolved for those affected by them.

11. NCPD Prevention Police Enhancement
NCPD Prevention Police Enhancement overhauls the police system in Cyberpunk 2077, turning the NCPD into a real threat.
Committing a crime will now result in you getting a bounty for a long time, and the city will react in a realistic way. NCPD will take longer to investigate crimes and will stay more focused on finding you if they are hunting you.

12. Better Loot Markers
This mod does exactly as it says on the tin, by adding new markers to various loot chests located across Night City which show what kind of loot is inside them.
This includes icons for weapons, armour, and other items that you can loot, meaning you already know what to expect before you’ve looted the chest.

13. Live in Night City
We’ve saved the best for last. We wouldn’t necessarily recommend this for a first playthrough, but for players who want a little extra difficulty or realism in their next save can check out Live in Night City.
The mod adds new character needs that you need to maintain across your playthrough, with thresholds for hunger, thirst, and fatigue being added that you’ll need to keep topping up. Not looking after these needs will result in penalties that can affect you.
