New PC Freebie is the Ultimate Follow-Up To Fallout Season 2 Finale

This is a treat for old-school Fallout fans

Fallout fans will want to check out this free PC offering on Steam, because it could be a perfect fix following that season two finale.

The Fallout series is one of Bethesda’s most popular properties, and when the company released its first game in 2008, the series became bigger and arguably better than ever with the arrival of Fallout 3 (my favourite game in the series, by the way).

Bethesda would then launch Fallout: New Vegas, which originally began development as an expansion to the aforementioned Fallout 3. This turned out to be a very wise decision indeed, because many would consider it to be the best game in the series.

Since then, we’ve had Fallout 4 in 2015 (which recently benefited from its long-awaited free new-gen update) and 2018’s online RPG spin-off, Fallout 76. The continued success of the series would eventually lead to the critically acclaimed live-action adaptation on Amazon’s Prime Video streaming service.

Fallout Season Three Location Confirmed!

Speaking of the Fallout live-action series, during the season two finale, moving away from New Vegas, the next setting was revealed, and it's a location to one of the strangest Fallout games in the series.

However, now that season two of Fallout has come to an end, and even though we know season three is confirmed, it’s left us with quite a void.

Sure, we can play any of the fantastic games in the series already available. But what if we want to play something new and is somewhat of a throwback to when the series began in 1997, before Bethesda acquired the licence. Thankfully, we might have you covered.

Old-School Fallout Fans Will Love This Freebie!

The freebie in question is a playable demo that we can download right now for RadCity: A Post-Apocalyptic Adventure, developed and published by the indie studio, babadokia. Check out the trailer above, it looks awesome in my opinion.

“Scavenge, explore and escape a dead city in a broken, post-apocalyptic world. Gather enough food for 40 days and prepare for a train journey to a place of refuge. An atmospheric exploration game featuring a top-down perspective and a finely crafted 3D world,” reads the synopsis of the game.

Played in a top-down perspective, very reminiscent of the Fallout games of yesteryear, RadCity: A Post-Apocalyptic Adventure looks like it's soaked in tension and atmosphere. It kind of reminds me of a cross between Fallout and Metro 2033.

At the time of writing, RadCity: A Post-Apocalyptic Adventure does not have a concrete release date, but the developers intend for it to be launched towards the end of this year.

In the meantime, not only can you download its free playable demo to get an early taste of the game, but you can also add RadCity: A Post-Apocalyptic Adventure to your wishlist and be notified when it’s ready to launch.
