It’s a complete and utter travesty that Titanfall 3 is yet to exist. Yes, I’m still clinging on to hope.

I can’t be the only one who thought that a Titanfall 3 reveal was closing last year’s The Game Awards before Geoff Keighley unveiled the now infamous Highguard.

Unfortunately, there’s nothing to currently suggest Titanfall 3 is in development.

Whispers arose last year claiming it was. It was said that Titanfall 3 was targeting a 2026 launch and would be announced at The Game Awards.

I’m now thinking they might’ve been misinformed and referencing Highguard.

Following Titanfall 2’s success, it has come to light that Titanfall 3 temporarily entered development before the plug was pulled 10 months in.

I’m afraid I can’t offer you a game that’ll quite offers the full Titanfall experience, but if you do just want to shoot things whilst piloting a huge mech, you’ve come to the right place.

Pilot a Giant Mech in Steel Wake, a Titanfall-esque FPS

Steel Wake from 5minlab Corp allows you to do just that, and it’s recently launched a free demo on PC storefront Steam.

“Steel Wake is a roguelite mech FPS that takes place in a future locked in a perpetual war,” the synopsis begins.

“Pilot a siege mech capable of large-scale destruction. Push through enemy defenses and cause havoc with overwhelming firepower.”

If you want to see more from GAMINGbible, make us a preferred source on Google.

Players will “besiege an entire fortification” alone as they pilot a powerful mech packed with various weapons and defenses.

With “chunky cannon shells, clouds of missiles, [and] raining artilleries” at your disposal, you’re hardly short of options within the heat of battle.

“Expand your armoury for a diverse array of armaments,” devs advise.

While your mech can withstand most damage, Steel Wake players will want to be tactical in the route they take.

You’ll need to cut the supplies of your opponents, for example, weakening their ability to fight back.

Outside of battle, you’ll “explore a dust-coated world of derelict ruins” where you can collect new weapons and “discover crumbs of humanity in a dead world”.

As I said, a free demo for the title has launched, although there are no reviews yet available for this so I can’t exactly comment on its quality.

Steel Wake’s trailers offer a glimpse at gameplay though, and what’s showcased looks like great fun.

If the demo does leave you itching to pick up the full release, Steel Wake lacks a release date but you can now wishlist the title on Steam to be kept up to date with its progress.
