Described as a game about “a creature with a never-ending hunger for anything around it”, it is hard to believe this new game isn't just me irl. If that also feels highly relatable, you may want to check out this upcoming surreal indie title.

With gameplay reminiscent of Katamari but set in a world more akin to the Lovecraftian horrors of Bloodborne, In Full Bloom is a 2026 release that you will want to keep on your radar.

More out of curiosity than anything.

Developed by Lisa Bach and Charisse Ann de Leon at obleak games, In Full Bloom will see you feed and raise your own little baby - a baby that just so happens to swallow everything and anything around it.

As you watch them grow, it will be your mission to keep them alive and, if you were an avid Tamigotchi fan back in the day, you have trained all of your life for this.

In Full Bloom Gameplay

As you feed the ever-hungry entity, you will watch as it steadily begins to outgrow its environment and as such, you will be faced with a moral dilemma: responsibility or mindless consumption?

With the goal to “embrace the blend of weirdness and familiarity”, In Full Bloom is currently in development ahead of a 2026 release date.

In Full Bloom is Perfect For The Eldritch Horror Fans

However, it is obvious that obleak games have a clear vision here and it centers around the surreal.

As your creature awaits its next meal, you will witness the eldritch evolution of your nightmares as your cute little creature, known only as “The Mouth” wants more and more.

With the development team aiming to add recognisable landmarks and memorable story beats, it seems as though the future is bright for In Full Bloom which is more than can be said for the various environments it is set to devour.

Featuring unique and disturbing visuals and a simple yet effective gameplay loop, In Full Bloom may not be for everyone but it will certainly appeal to fans of the obscure and macabre.

Although it does not yet have a full release date, In Full Bloom is now available to wishlist on Steam ahead of its 2026 launch. There is no denying that this game will make a name for itself in the indie gaming community.

So if you are a fan of the eldritch horrors of Bloodborne but with a Tamigotchi/Katamari twist, you do not want to miss out on this unique title.
