Steam has dropped a brand new 100% approved game which can be beaten in a single sitting, and it’s completely free.

Words From Pluto is a new game from indie developer ThatMegalosaurus, described as a “short experimental platformer” where you use different words to move.

It’s another game in the genre of “platformer with interesting controls where you climb a mountain”, sitting alongside games like Cairn and Celeste, and you can grab it from Steam now for free.

Essentially, you type words out on the screen, and these words correspond with different moves you can make, with some utilising unique abilities like jumping or sliding.

Along the way, you can collect scrolls which contain new words to expand your capabilities, with new moves being unlocked over the course of its short play time.

You use these limited movement options to work out how to climb the mountain, with the discovery of what’s at the top awaiting you. There are also secret routes awaiting you, available for anyone who wants to delve deeper into the narrative.

With this in mind, the game doesn’t require any mouse input. Instead, it can be played only with a keyboard. Controller users may have to skip this one due to how specific the experience is.

Words From Pluto Doesn't Take You Long To Beat, But There Are Reasons To Revisit

It’ll take you around 20 minutes to beat the game, but there are incentives for attempting the climb multiple times.

ThatMegalosaurus has also made sure to include a few treats for players who play enough to see all three endings.

By finishing the main route and then finding the two secret endings, you’ll unlock special cheats which allow you to play in new and interesting ways.

As of writing this article, Words From Pluto currently has a 100% positive rating score on Steam, indicating that every player so far has enjoyed the game.

“I sincerely hope this game receives the love and attention it deserves. it's free, give it a try!” reads one review from a user.

“Really neat concept with a charming Art style and really wonderful music! Congrats on your first steam release!!” reads another review.

Words From Pluto is out now on Steam, completely free for anyone to play.
