The GTA VI Collectorâs Edition may have leaked online, and judging by how massive its box looks, it could be packed with a lot of content. However, with GTA VI being a digital-only title, it could cause more backlash for Rockstar Games if it's real.
In June 2026, Rockstar Games officially announced that GTA VI pre-orders are underway. However, what should have been a joyous time for the Grand Theft Auto developer was followed by mass community backlash after it was confirmed that there will be no physical discs and GTA VI is a digital-only game.
GTA 6 Collectorâs Edition reportedly leaks online
Images of what appears to be the GTA VI Collectorâs Edition are making the social media rounds, and judging by the size of the box, it looks to be bigger than PlayStation 5 console packaging, which of course means that it likely contains a lot of content. But one piece of content that we all know wonât be included is a physical disc of GTA VI.
Images first began circulating on X (formerly Twitter) before being deleted. Those images were later shared on Reddit by user anonymoususercake. The large boxes are shaped like a square and long, with the GTA VI logo; it also includes Vice City branding, which is, of course, a returning location of the beloved 2002 GTA game.

Are these leaked GTA 6 Collectorâs Edition images genuine?
Thatâs the million-dollar question. The photos do appear to be real, especially the one of multiple boxes on a pallet. That being said, as weâre all aware, all kinds of genuine-looking images can be created with ease, so there is a good chance that they are fake. They could have been created simply to get us all talking, as we are now. For all we know, if real, they could be merchandise kits to be sent out to media and content creators. We can only speculate at this time.
If these images are of genuine GTA VI Collectorâs Editions, as much as fans have been wanting this, it could trigger mass backlash towards Rockstar Games, given the fact that it will likely be quite expensive (if real) and it wonât include a physical copy of the game.
Even more publishers seem to be creating collectorâs editions without physical discs nowadays and instead favour digital codes. Which, to be fair, would play into Rockstar Gamesâ strategy to not release GTA VI on a physical disc.
However, understandably, gamers are becoming increasingly frustrated with expensive collectorâs editions being distributed with a digital code. In some cases, youâd get a steelbook case with no disc to put in it, which feels like an insult.
That all being said, weâre assuming that these âleakedâ images of the GTA VI Collectorâs Edition are real. The only way weâll truly know for sure is if Rockstar Games makes an official announcement in the coming days or weeks. Grand Theft Auto VI will be released on November 19, 2026, on PlayStation 5 and Xbox Series X/S.
