If you’re a PC gamer, you’re going to want to get in the habit of visiting the Epic Games Store on a weekly basis.
Every Thursday, the storefront offers a new line-up of free games, typically consisting of one or two titles per week.
The latest free offering has now become available and from now until 4pm BST on Thursday September 10, players can pick up sci-fi hit Alone With You.
Developed by BancyCo, Alone With You originally launched all the way back in 2017, and it’s one that may have slipped under the radar for you in a year that also delivered us heavy hitters like The Legend of Zelda: Breath of the Wild, Super Mario Odyssey, and Persona 5.

It’s an adventure game that’ll tug on your heartstrings. Alone With You sees you attempt to escape a doomed space colony with the help of a robot AI companion.
“Can love bloom on a doomed space colony? Alone With You is the tragic sci-fi follow-up to indie horror hit Home, in which you discover the fate of your crumbling installation with the help of a very emotive AI companion and four fully-realised holograms,” reads the game’s synopsis.
“Providing a rich story that adapts to your choices, Alone With You is the Space Quest-meets-OK Cupid adventure game you never knew you wanted — until now!”
There are “dozens” of missions, multiple endings, varied conversation options, and tricky decisions to be made.
As you can see, Alone With You unfolds as a choose-your-own-adventure style narrative game.
It also features gorgeous pixel-art visuals which developers note are a love letter to the SEGA CD.
You’re making around a $10 saving by picking Alone With You up for free
Alone With You doesn’t make for the biggest saving we’ve ever seen on the Epic Games Store.
It usually retails for around $9.99 so it’s still a respectable saving nevertheless.

According to How Long To Beat, it should take you around six and a half hours to complete Alone With You’s main story or 11.5 hours if you want to see all available options and endings.
Here’s some other free PC treats you shouldn’t miss:
- Valheim and Tomb Raider collide in limited-time free Steam survival game
- Crimson Desert is playable for free from your PC browser, no download required
Over on Steam, the game has a ‘Mostly Positive’ rating of 78% with plenty of praise thrown towards the game’s puzzle elements and overall concept.
“My impression is it's a good concept and execution. It is an adventure game with puzzles that you have to solve. The puzzles are pretty logical. There were instances where I had to go back and forth but nothing too hard,” wrote one user.
Another added, “I loved this game. As the story unfolds, as you look for a solution for the dire situation you found yourself in, you grow in a routine, a mission a day. There is nothing really challenging gameplay wise but the good writing, the awesome musical score and the peculiar graphical style all cast a spell on me. It soon became the go to experience in many nice evenings.”
That certainly sounds pleasant enough.
As always, you may as well grab this freebie from the Epic Games Store even if you don’t feel like playing it now; you never know what you’ll fancy playing further down the line.
It’s yours to keep once claimed but is only available on PC.
