A brand new PC soulslike that looks like a mix of Skyrim and Elden Ring is now available for you to try for free.

The Bearer & The Last Flame is coming out in early March, but for those who want to try it a little earlier, a free demo has now just hit Steam.

The game is a dark fantasy action adventure blending the tough soulslike combat of Elden Ring with the open-world exploration of The Elder Scrolls V: Skyrim.

In a world ravaged by darkness, you play as the bearer of the last light in the world. The game features soulslike combat where you need to strike, dodge, and parry your way through each combat encounter.

The game takes place across five different locations, each area possessing a variety of unique enemies and weapons. In addition to this, there are a bunch of NPCs for you to interact with, offering different quests to take on and complete.

The Bearer & The Last Flame Is Available To Play Now As A Free Demo

In case you fancied checking it out, you can do so now by downloading the free demo as part of Steam Next Fest.

The demo allows you to experience much of the game’s opening, giving you a taste of what to expect in the full release.

There are apparently over 200 weapons in the full game, each one accommodating a different playstyle. So, if you’re keen on trying out multiple builds and seeing what works for you, the demo will give you an early idea of what that looks like.

The blurb on The Bearer & The Last Flame reads: “In the far reaches of the extinct land of men, darkness has ravaged every sign of life."

"The lost souls of bloodthirsty warriors seek rest in the underworld, where the demons of the abyss, the darkest creatures, and soulless sorcerers dwell."

“Darkness hangs over the whole land and there is hardly a glimpse of light. There is no solace for life. But in the high mountains of Selender, a halo of hope has arisen.

“A living soul has received his commission. A valiant one to light the lands of night, the dark lands. This is your mission, bearer of The Last Flame.”

The Bearer & The Last Flame will release on 6 March, 2026 for PlayStation 5 and PC. It’ll be available as either a standard edition or a special Knight’s Edition with additional bonus items.
