Minecraft and Elden Ring fans will want to check out this stunning new RPG that you’ll be able to play for free.

In the world of video games, it doesn't get much bigger than Minecraft. What started life as a humble sandbox crafting game on PC in 2009 has evolved into one of the most popular properties in all of entertainment history across multiple platforms and generations.

What’s more, we’ve seen countless collaborations with the Minecraft video game, including Star Wars, Jurassic Park, Sonic the Hedgehog, as well as loads of spin-off titles, and much more. That’s not even taking into account the 2024 Minecraft Movie and all of the merchandise.

Then we have Elden Ring, one of the most recent titles served up by the legendary team at FromSoftware that has given us the likes of Bloodborne, Sekiro: Shadows Die Twice and Dark Souls.

A FromSoftware RPG is known for its gruelling, yet fun combat, intimidating bosses, immersive worlds and stunning visuals that will lure you in with its beauty, before killing you most cruelly and suddenly.

Minecraft Meets Elden Ring

While two entirely different games, both Minecraft and Elden Ring, are huge in its own right, so when a game comes along that blends both of its worlds, it piques our interest. One such game is called Dark Craft, developed and published by the indie studio at Take Top Entertainment.

“Dark Craft is a free-to-play MMO set in a grim dark-fantasy world, where a vast open world and a Souls-style combat system turn every encounter into a true challenge,” reads the synopsis of the game on Steam.

“The world is filled with secrets and dangers: monsters are ruthless, and other players can become either allies or enemies.

"Explore the lands, discover rare artefacts, and fight alone or with a group — in Dark Craft, your path is defined by your choices and your ability to endure in a harsh world.”

While the newly released trailer for Dark Craft looks very promising indeed, it’s perhaps worth keeping in mind that it doesn't include any gameplay, but at the very least, the whole concept looks very promising.

Dark Craft doesn't have a release date at the time of writing, but you can wishlist it on Steam to be notified when it's ready to launch. When it is released, it will be a free-to-play title, so it will be interesting to see how it's monetised.
