One rather exciting cameo in the trailer for Season 2 of Amazon’s Fallout TV series has led to the Fallout: New Vegas group getting some extra love in a new mod.
Alright, heads up: if you’re trying to go in completely blind to Fallout Season 2, then you should be warned that this article featured a teeny, tiny spoiler that featured in the latest trailer.
You’ve been warned!
A new mod for Bethesda’s Fallout: New Vegas has released just at the right time, because it’s focusing on one of the game’s most underappreciated factions: The Kings.

The timing on this one really is ridiculously impressive too, because it dropped just after the latest trailer for Season 2 of Fallout… and said trailer featured a cameo appearance from one of The Kings’ members (who gets shot in the face by Lucy).
Lived-In Freeside is a mod for Fallout: New Vegas over on Nexus Mods by author Qolore7, and it's attempting to make The Kings' locale even scummier.
As Qolore7 explains in the mod's description, they wanted to "really lean into the squatter-infested, slummy atmosphere" that they thought "Freeside was supposed to represent", by adding a bunch of new clutter, graffiti, and squatter camps.
Funnily enough, it seems that I’m not the only one that noticed how well the mod’s release lines up with The Kings’ cameo in the trailer.

“Thanks for your hard work Qolore. I have several of your mods installed in my load order”, commented Nexus Mods user jayhall0315.
“Keep up the good work... my game is better bc of you!”
“Hell yeah, finally all the bums and squatters actually have realistic sleeping arrangements”, replied Nexus Mods user Giveth.
“The Payment for their short cameo in the Season 2 trailer finally made the Kings afford some Windows for their headquarters. Great!” commented Nexus user Falco217.

Ugh, I didn’t realise it was possible to get even more excited for Season 2 until now.
I really, really hope that The King survived and we get to see him pop up somewhere along the way. Walton Goggins’ Cooper Howard interacting with a dude speaking like Elvis Presley sounds perfect.
