The Witcher 3 is still widely recognised as one of the better RPG experiences that we have ever seen, with Geralt of Rivia's adventures in the third game rightly recognised for pushing the genre forward significantly.
CD Projekt Red's formula also left the door open for the game to build up an immense multiplayer community, who have continued to refresh the overall experience for those of us who like to keep going back to the game.
Usually, this amounts to visual updates, additional quests to complete, new monsters to hunt or regions to explore, but some modders decide to take things a step further in order to do something truly groundbreaking.
That is what brings us here today! A new mod has fundamentally changed The Witcher 3, and we couldn't be more excited to give it a try. Only this time we won't be alone in our explorations.
The Witcher 3 Online Makes Geralt With Friends a Reality

As first reported by WCCFTech, The Witcher 3 Online is a new mod that finally allows us to play the game with our friends, some ten years after the original version launched as a single-player only experience.
Developed by Rejuvenate, the mod adds a bespoke multiplayer mode in which players can explore the world of the game together by connecting to dedicate servers that sync everything up on the control side of things.
Additionally, it also comes with support for other mods, allowing you to keep many of the visual and role-playing upgrades that you may already have installed to enhance the base game.
It also has full sync for other tangible features, including the gear each character is using and what they're doing at the time, whether that be in combat or part of other elements of the game like dialogue.

As with any mod that's still in active development, there are some issues that crop up along the way, particularly around boss battles, but it's still a very impressive next step for The Witcher 3.
It will certainly give us something to do whilst we wait for the release of the next game in the series, which is currently under active development at CDPR, though we don't know much about that release at the time of writing.
The company has confirmed that they now have several hundred employees working on The Witcher 4, so fingers crossed that we'll get to hear something before long.
