Fans of The Witcher 3: Wild Hunt can download a free expansion right now.
Originally released in 2015 on PC, PlayStation 4 and Xbox One, The Witcher 3: Wild Hunt is one of (if not the) best games from CD Projekt RED, the studio that later brought us the sci-fi RPG, Cyberpunk 2077.
The Witcher 3: Wild Hunt is somewhat of an odd commodity because, despite being the third game in the series, it was many fans' introduction to the franchise. Yet, those new to the series likely enjoyed the fantasy RPG as much as anyone else.
Now, new and veteran fans alike can not only look forward to a full remake of the original game that was released in 2007 but also the launch of The Witcher 4, both of which are powered by Unreal Engine 5.

The Witcher 3 already has two official expansions, Hearts of Stone, and Blood & Wine. However, if you’re looking for new story content to tide you over until those aforementioned projects arrive, the modding community has you covered.
The mod in question is a prequel called ‘Tales of the Witcher’, created by Gerwant, and it’s free to download now via NexusMods.
“A new world in a different time. As Geralt, you arrive in Cintra, long before the events of the books and games,” reads the description of the mod. “Experience a new story, explore a new world, and take on contracts, doing what a witcher was made to do – killing monsters.”
Unfortunately, as is the case with most mods, this is a PC exclusive and is not compatible with the console versions of The Witcher 3.
The Witcher 3: Wild Hunt is available on PC, PlayStation, Xbox and Nintendo Switch.
As for The Witcher 4, it does not have a release date, but it’s expected to be a couple of years away. We’ll keep you posted as soon as CD Projekt RED drops new information.
