Where Winds Meet is adding its first new region since launch, and the first real look at Hexi will be debuted in a trailer premiere alongside IGNFanFest.

Offering an expansive open world and detailed questlines, Where Winds Meet has been widely successful since its launch in November of 2025. Fans have been pleased with the steady flow of new content, and the game has not toppled down pay-to-play pipelines that have done poorly with games like Infinity Nikki.

It was revealed on February 16, 2026, that Where Winds Meet would be debuting the Hexi region as part of the Season 2 content that has been rolling out for the past several weeks. The official launch date for the new region is March 6, 2026.

However, an early peek at what to expect from Hexi will be available just before this launch date, giving fans an idea of what their next tasks will be.

Where Winds Meet’s Hexi Region Is Reminiscent of Tears of the Kingdom

In a trailer shared via the official Where Winds Meet social media account, it has been confirmed that the IGNFanFest trailer for the Hexi region will air on February 25, 2026.

The first teaser trailer for the Hexi region introduced a world that seems to be disconnected from Qinghe and Kaifeng, filled with floating buildings and golden light. A quick glance at new enemies has revealed large, terrifying bosses with unique powers.

The atmosphere of the Hexi region feels similar to The Legend of Zelda: Tears of the Kingdom, but of the Nintendo game, where an intense, Wuxia-inspired Soulslike. The sharp, detailed landscapes are reminiscent of Hyrule, and the way the moon glows on grass fields will appear shockingly similar to anyone who has played Breath of the Wild or Tears of the Kingdom.

However, art direction is the only similarity shared between these two games, as players will have to unravel dark mysteries and continue on their journey to discover their missing mentor and understand their greater purpose within the story of the game.

At this time, it isn’t known whether the Hexi Region will debut with a new main story chapter, but it is possible, as each region in Where Winds Meet plays a role in the greater story of the game’s narrative.
