Where Winds Meet, the free RPG available on PS5 and PC, is getting a new expansion in a few weeks.

Where Winds Meet has become a hit success with RPG players, who have enjoyed the amount of content offered by the game, especially for something that doesn’t cost a penny to play.

Everstone Studios has now released a new trailer for Where Winds Meet: Hexi, revealing the brand new Hexi region which will be coming to the game in March.

The new Hexi expansion features three large chapters, each one set to roll out every month in a serialised format, with the first one titled Jade Gate Pass launching on 6 March.

Check out the trailer, which I’ve embedded below, to get a glimpse at the new region and some of the new story content that will be available when the expansion launches.

Where Winds Meet's New Free Expansion Will Take Us Through Three New Regions

Overall, it’ll feature three new maps with nearly 20 subregions, along with 11 bosses, seven Jianghu Legacies, and dozens of side quests. Quite a lot to get through if you've already exhausted all of the base game's content.

The remaining content will trickle out between March and May 2026, with additional chapters unlocking as time goes on. Chapter 2 is titled Liangzhou, while the third is Qinchuan.

Jade Gate Pass features a new gorgeous desert area populated by many tough bosses and enemies, as well as brand new stories and quests to complete and new martial art styles. Meanwhile, Liangzhou is defined by now-covered plains, and Qinchuan represented by ancient, mountain paths.

As for the new combat styles, the new Bamboocut - Dust focuses on long range and area of effect damage, while also utilising displacement and enemy grouping.

Moving further along into April, the expansion will also introduce a new weapon type called the Heng Blade, a sword inspired by historical ring-pommel weapons from Ancient China. It’s designed for fast, close-range combat with effective strikes.

The weapon also comes alongside a new martial art path, called Stonesplit - Strength, which may tempt you to try out the new tools at your disposal.

Where Winds Meet’s Hexi expansion will launch for PlayStation 5 and PC on 6 March.

It’ll be completely free to play, with more content expected to drop in the coming months after release, so keep an eye out for that too.
