PS5 Free Hit Cosy RPG Drops Biggest Ever Expansion

One of the world’s favourite open-world dress-up games is set to welcome a massive update, available on PS5, and it arrives alongside a whole new region as well as, and perhaps most importantly, new outfits and abilities.

I am, of course, talking about Infinity Nikki, the free-to-play action-adventure game with dress-up elements which took the world by storm when it was first released back in December 2024.

Developed and published by Papergames (or Infold Games outside of China), Infinity Nikki is the fifth instalment in the Nikki franchise and features everything from open-world exploration to platforming and even puzzle-solving.

However, there is no denying that the vast majority of fans flocked to Infinity Nikki for its dress-up elements.

With different outfits granting different abilities which can help you with navigating the massive open-world, dressing up has never been more important and that seems to be the ethos for this brand-new update.

Infinity Nikki v2.0 is now available and comes in at over 30GB so you will have to make quite a bit of room on your PlayStation 5 to handle it, especially as the base game is 60gb by itself.

The update comes almost a year after Infinity Nikki launched in the west and this free update massively expands on an already impressive open-world title.

Alongside a myriad of new outfits, each offering their own unique abilities, players can also expect the arrival of a bow and arrow and grappling hook as well as the ability to summon spirits and even make yourself as big as a giant.

The new region is known as Itzaland and it is here you will uncover whole new locations to explore as well as new characters and species, brand-new activities, snail-shell boat rides and the occasional parkour-style parkouring challenge.

The majority of Infinity Nikki’s new outfits will be able to be unlocked through the main story and so you do not have to worry about missing out on any new abilities.

“Infinity Nikki has always been about giving players the freedom to express themselves,” Infold Games’ Douhu said.

“With Version 2.0, we wanted to take that freedom even further. This update is not just about exploring Itzaland, but about shaping it. It represents everything we’ve learned over the past year, and everything we still want to build together with our players.”
