According to the latest reports, 4 June is when we’re finally going to see that long-awaited Legend of Zelda remake.
We’ve already heard from previous sources that Nintendo has remade The Legend of Zelda: Ocarina of Time for the Nintendo Switch 2.
Rebuilt from the ground-up it’s said to be split into two parts, the first of which focuses on Young Link’s portion of the story, whereas the second focuses on Adult Link. It sounds unlikely but not out of the realm of possibility.
Nintendo fans should brace themselves for 4 June though, as that’s when Nintendo plans to show off the new remake, along with other games it plans to release in 2026/2027.
June is already looking stacked for video game reveals as it often does. We’re a week away from Summer Game Fest, a PlayStation State of Play is scheduled for tomorrow, and over the weekend, Xbox will give us a sneak peek of what’s coming next in terms of first-party games.

Gamers are already claiming to have heard “whispers” of a Nintendo Direct later this week and while they’re just unconfirmed rumours at the time of writing, Nintendo’s track record lines up.
Nintendo almost always drops a new Direct in June and with this week in particular being packed full of other game showcase it wouldn’t be a surprise to see the company follow suit.
Out of all the games that could be shown, the Ocarina of Time remake is the big one but the sky is the limit for what other titles could be shown off at the same time.

The Nintendo Switch 2 still doesn’t have a 3D Super Mario platformer yet so perhaps we’ll finally get a reveal trailer for that, and we’re dying to see some DLC for Mario Kart World.
As for other reveals, we’re hoping to see some DLC for Tomodachi Life: Living The Dream, perhaps a tease for a new Animal Crossing game, and some more additions to Nintendo Switch Online wouldn’t go amiss either.
So keep your eyes on the official Nintendo social media accounts, because if a Direct is happening this week, it’ll be teased on there a day or two before it happens.
If not though, Nintendo has the rest of the month to deliver the goods, which might be the smarter play, so it doesn’t have to compete with all the other video game reveals/updates happening at the same time.
We just can’t believe we’re probably going to get a Legend of Zelda: Ocarina of Time remake before Grand Theft Auto VI…
