It looks like Rockstar Games boss, Strauss Zelnick, may have just teased GTA VI on PC and the next iteration of GTA Online.

Unless you’ve been living under a rock for the last few years, you’ll be well aware that the next entry in Rockstar Games' goliath, the Grand Theft Auto series, is on the way later this year.

At the time of writing, GTA VI has only been confirmed for PlayStation 5 and Xbox Series X/S. There has been no official announcement of the highly anticipated PC port. However, we shouldn't be really concerned about that lack of activity. That being said, some form of official confirmation would put a large chunk of the fan base at ease.

Typically, whether it’s been GTA V or Red Dead Redemption 2, Rockstar Games tends to release a PC port at least a year after its console counterpart. Well, unless we’re talking about 2010’s Red Dead Redemption, which arrived on PC an agonising 13 years later in 2023, but I digress.

As brought to our attention by the reliable fan website, Rockstar Intel, the CEO of Take-Two Interactive, the parent company of Rockstar Games, made some quite intriguing comments about what the future may hold for GTA VI after its big launch later this year.

During an interview with The Game Business, when the topic of GTA VI post-launch was brought up for discussion, Zelnick said that Take-Two Interactive and Rockstar Games have “a lot of work to do after the launch of GTA VI.”

Of course, this could mean any number of things. The company wants to ensure that enough copies of GTA VI are available in the market to sustain sales growth long after its launch, which may include an extended marketing campaign.

It could mean that GTA VI will most likely need post-launch updates to address any unforeseen issues. After all, no matter how great a game is, in most cases, post-launch updates are still required.

However, going the more optimistic route, it could also mean that Rockstar Games will be preparing not only for the launch of GTA VI on PC, but also for GTA Online across all platforms.

It’s a given that we’ll get GTA VI on PC and the next GTA Online at some point. But what we don’t know right now is when they’ll arrive. Only time will tell.

Grand Theft Auto VI will be released on PlayStation 5 and Xbox Series X/S on 19 November 2026. We’ll let you know when news of the PC port, as well as the next iteration of GTA Online, drops.
