After years of silence on the Grand Theft Auto VI front, updates are now arriving thick and fast.
Grand Theft Auto VI: The Album has officially been revealed, with pre-orders live for the soundtrack which has already released six songs by the likes of Morgan Wallen, Keith Richards, PinkPantheress, and Travis Scott.
Then, there’s the leak of 200GB worth of GTA V source code which may have revealed a Liberty City DLC for GTA VI.
And now, it’s time to turn our attention to GTA VI’s PC port and future online mode.

Rockstar Games has always valued its console player base over those on PC, with little effort put in to deliver a PC version of its titles at launch.
Oftentimes, PC users are forced to wait upwards of a year after the console launch, but that looks as if it may not be the case for GTA VI.
Take-Two’s CEO has stressed the newfound importance of the PC market
In a new Take-Two Interactive shareholder meeting, the parent company of Rockstar Games, CEO Strauss Zelnick said that PC is becoming “more and more important” to the business.
As reported by GTA Boom, Zelnick reiterated that platforms are targeted “for which there’s a meaningful audience” but then stressed the growing importance of the PC user base.
It’s far from a PC port launch date, but considering Take-Two Interactive and Rockstar Games have previously been quite happy to ignore the PC market, this is a positive step forward.
The comments came alongside the reveal that GTA VI’s online mode will reportedly launch next year in 2027.
Twitch’s CEO has let a secret slip regarding GTA Online’s successor

This tidbit didn’t come from Zelnick nor Rockstar Games itself. It was Twitch CEO Dan Clancy who let the cat out of the bag.
“We spent a lot of time talking with Rockstar about their plans,” Clancy told Bloomberg.
“You are going to see this big bump with GTA VI, but then an even bigger one next year when they launch multiplayer.”
Rockstar Games is yet to confirm its online plans so you’re urged to take Clancy’s comments with a pinch of salt, even though he has by all accounts been in discussion with Rockstar.
In the latest shareholders meeting, Zelnick said that GTA VI is strictly single-player, perhaps signifying that the next iteration of GTA Online will be its own standalone product, rather than an add-on mode launched as DLC.
Zelnick also confirmed that GTA Online will continue to be supported after GTA VI launches.

It’ll be interesting, then, to see what ultimately happens. The prevalent theory is that we’ll see an updated version of GTA Online created within GTA VI’s engine, dubbed ‘GTA Online 2’.
Clancy’s comment certainly makes it sound like the multiplayer will be something entirely new rather than an update to an existing product.
You might assume that fans would be hyped but actually, they’re just concerned for what this instance of loose lips means for Clancy.
“Bruh - Rockstar special forces are gonna be at his door after saying that,” said Twitter/X user Babyface4Lyfe.
They make an excellent point. CYBERLEEK certainly was never heard from again.
Rockstar Games will unveil its full plans in good time. For now, let’s all relish in the fact that GTA VI is merely two months away.
