This is either a match made in heaven or a match made with hell; it’s The Legend of Zelda: Ocarina of Time but played like a Halo game.
We can all agree that games are pretty cool, but what’s often cooler is what the gamers do once those games have come out…
The modding community truly is something else so when we see Link from Ocarina of Time driving a Warthog from Halo: Combat Evolved, you best believe we’re going to make you see it too.
If the Master Chief were dropped into Hyrule, he’d have Ganondorf packed up in an afternoon, no Ocarina required.
Chief isn’t part of this mod, though, but Link still gets to use his toys to save the day.

YouTuber notChase is known for creating some of the wildest Ocarina of Time mods going and while you unfortunately can’t play them yourself, they’re at least fun to watch.
One of their best is Zelda x Halo, which features Link swishing around an energy sword and lobbing plasma grenades like a Halo Grunt.
The video is just short of five minutes long and it’s hilarious. What we especially love is how the energy sword the mod adds still behaves as if it’s from the Halo games. That’s to say Link will lunge forward when he uses it.
What’s not plucked from Halo though, is the ability to throw the sword. Link can lob it around for some ranged damage and while it’s very cool, perhaps he’d be better off sticking to grenades.
The real highlight of the surprise crossover though, is the Warthog. Sure, we all love Epona but there’s nothing funnier than Link tearing up the grass of Hyrule field in a military jeep.
There’s even a bit where it’s driven into Hyrule Castle and Princess Zelda herself hops into the gunner’s seat. Ganondorf isn’t walking away from that encounter.
It’s a hilarious mod and there are many more like it on notChase’s page, so be sure to check them out too.
After seeing Zelda x Halo, we feel it’s only right that someone mod a Halo game to feature items and enemies from The Legend of Zelda, you know, in the interest of fairness and all.
Master Chief wielding the Master Sword would be a sight to behold and if you modded Halo: Infinite, you could easily pretend the grappling hook is Link’s Hookshot.
Like we said before, the modding community really is something and we can’t wait to see more wacky collaborations in the future.
