If this Star Wars fan theory is true, we could see a terrifying legend become canon in live-action form.
The Star Wars universe is certainly vast, not only with what we’ve seen in the blockbuster movies and spin-off series on platforms such as Disney Plus, but also with its non-canon tales found in the likes of the Legends novelisations.
In many instances, the non-canon tales can be more interesting than those that are official, especially when they centre around characters such as Darth Plagueis, Darth Raven and Dark Malak, to name a few.
With that in mind, one other Star Wars villain who has many non-canon tales could be about to become official canon in the upcoming season two of Ahsoka.

As reported by The Holofiles (via ScreenRant), season two of Ahsoka has recently wrapped up ahead of its expected arrival on Disney Plus in 2026, and it’s rumoured that Abeloth will be the main villain.
At the end of season one of Ahsoka, Baylan Skoll is seen standing at the statue of the Father, one of the three Mortis Gods, the others being the Son and Daughter. So, it’s already established that they will likely play some role in season two.
It’s said that the Mortis Gods bring balance to the Force, with the Son representing the Dark Side and the Daughter representing the Light Side. However, following the murder of the Daughter, it brought unbalance to the Force, which some believe led to the demise of Anakin Skywalker.
Yet, there is a fourth member of that evil Godly squad, and that’s the Mother, who would later become known as Abeloth. She most notably played a big role in the non-canon books, Star Wars: Fate of the Jedi.

Fearing death, the mother bathed in the Font of Power and the Pool of Knowledge, but this ultimately corrupted her to the Dark Side of the Force and gave her unimaginable powers. As such, she became Abeloth but was locked away to prevent her from inflicting torment upon the galaxy.
It’s believed that in season two of Ahsoka, Baylan Skoll is searching for Abeloth, and some have even speculated that his apprentice, Shin Hati, may have been Abeloth all along.
What’s more, Anakin Skywalker, the former Jedi Master of Ahsoka, made an emotional return in season one, and he will reprise his role in season two.
It’s also been speculated that Natalie Portman, who played Padmé Amidala in the prequel trilogy, the soul mate of Anakin and the mother of Luke and Leia, will be in season two.

Sadly for Anakin, if these rumours of Padmé’s return are true, it won't be the romantic reunion he hoped for because it’s believed that Abeloth mimics the appearance of his love in a cruel act of manipulation.
Of course, this is pure speculation at this time, so it should be taken with a pinch of salt until proven otherwise. But if true, season two of Ahsoka could be very intriguing indeed.
