The chosen one himself will return for more live-action Star Wars, and we can’t wait to see how it happens.

We’re of course talking about Anakin Skywalker, arguably the most important character in the entirety of the Star Wars franchise, it is often referred to as the Skywalker Saga after all.

Anakin last appeared in Ahsoka S1, with Season 2 starting filming next week

Anakin’s return, played by Hayden Christensen, broke the internet, with millions of adoring fans praising the return of a character in live-action.

Today at Star Wars Celebration 2025 in Japan a special panel was held reflecting on the first season of Ahsoka, with Dave Filoni, Jon Favreau, Rosario Dawnson and Hayden Christensen present to discuss.

Fans were also treated to a few tiny teases and even a sneak-peak at concepts that’ll be used for the second season, including the news that yes, Anakin Skywalker will return.

Hayden Christensen said as much on stage much to the overwhelming joy of the audience watching, the crowd went wild.

How and why Anakin will return is the next question, but we did see him appear as a force ghost at the end of the season so it’s likely he’ll converse with Ahsoka and perhaps help her find a way off the planet she’s stranded on.

Interestingly the Father, the Son and the Daughter from the Clone Wars series were seen in the form of statues on the planet, so I for one am eager to see if there’s more to their return than just scenery, and how a force ghost Anakin may interact with them.

Of course we could also get a few more flashbacks to the Clone Wars too, hopefully with Ewan McGregor back as Obi-Wan Kenobi as well. Now that’d be a dream come true.
