One of Star Wars: The Acolyte’s biggest stars is returning for a new Star Wars project, but probably not the one you would have hoped (or expected).
It’s been well over a year since Star Wars: The Acolyte first dropped on Disney+ back in 2024, yet the media giant has been pretty quiet about a potential return for the series.
Manny Jacinto, who portrayed the Stranger, has been very vocal about wanting to return, and Disney has even released a couple of books (both fiction and non-fiction) revolving around Star Wars: The Acolyte’s plot.
It doesn’t seem that either Disney or LucasFilm is keen to revisit it any time soon, however, at least in a live-action capacity. They do seem keen to continue working with the talent behind the show though, at least if the trailer for their latest Star Wars project is anything to go by.

As revealed in a post on the official Star Wars blog, a new trailer for Season 3 of Star Wars: Visions is finally here, and it's got some big names behind it.
There’s some impressive talent propping up the production side of things, including Wit Studio, which many fans will know for their work on both Attack on Titan and Spy x Family, and Aardman Animations, the studio behind both Wallace & Gromit and Chicken Run.
There’s also some pretty famous names behind the voice cast this time too, including the likes of Steve Buscemi, Simu Liu, George Takei, Freddie Highmore and Stephanie Hsu.
However, one name is standing out amongst the voice cast for fans, and that’s Jodie Turner-Smith.

Star Wars: The Acolyte fans may remember Turner-Smith as Mother Aniseya, who raised both Verosha and Mae-ho (the latter of which would end up becoming the Stranger).
So, does this mean that Jodie Turner-Smith is reprising her role as Mother Aniseya in Star Wars: Visions? I highly doubt it.
It’s impossible to say for sure at the moment, and we’ll probably have to wait until Season 3 is actually out to confirm it either way, but it wouldn’t really matter too much if she did.
Star Wars: Visions is very much a non-canon affair, which is how the writers are allowed to get away with doing so much wacky stuff. Even if Mother Aniseya did return, it wouldn’t be an official continuation of Star Wars: The Acolyte.

However, it would imply that Disney is potentially thinking about bringing the show back in some other kind of capacity down the line, so there is still hope. We’ll have to wait until October 29, when the third season drops, to know for sure.
