Star Wars fans have praised a casting choice for the legendary Sith Lord, Darth Plagueis.

Considering that Darth Plagueis has only ever appeared once in live-action form, it’s a testament to just how intriguing this Star Wars villain is. Before 2024, he got a mention in Revenge of the Sith as well as some novels.

His first and only visual appearance was in the colossal Disney Plus flop, The Acolyte. Don’t worry, I won't go on another rant as to why I felt let down by this series.

“In ‘Star Wars: The Acolyte,’ an investigation into a shocking crime spree pits a respected Jedi Master (Lee Jung-jae) against a dangerous warrior from his past (Amandla Stenberg),” reads the synopsis of season one. “As more clues emerge, they travel down a dark path where sinister forces reveal all is not what it seems.”

My hopes were lifted when Darth Plagueis appeared at the end of the final episode of season one, leaving us on an enticing cliffhanger for season two. Then, The Acolyte got cancelled.

I just hope that, despite the reception and cancellation of The Acolyte, Disney and Lucasfilm plan to reintroduce Darth Plagueis in his live-action form, whether it’s a movie or TV series.

That being said, if you’re desperate for more Darth Plagueis, then you might want to check out the audiobook called Star Wars: Darth Plagueis, that’s been praised by fans.

“I’m about to listen to the audiobook of Star Wars: Darth Plagueis for the first time!” announced a Reddit user in the thread.

“I'm a big Mark Thompson snob, but Daniel Davis is incredibly good in this and takes this story to another level,” replied closedeyevisuals13, “I have listened to this again so many times since it came out.”

“His Palpatine is amazing,” added JayEdgarHooverCar.

“You'll love it. I'm unsure if this is the right word, but his voice is very...atmospheric. It helps create the tone and submerge you into the galaxy far, far away,” explained Arega1s.

“It’s one of the top three audiobooks I’ve ever experienced. I hope you enjoy it!” exclaimed another Redditor.

“I fell asleep the past week because of this book. I love it,” declared StonedCrypto.

If you’ve got the willpower to sit through all eight episodes, season one of The Acolyte is available to stream right now on Disney Plus. Or, you can just skip to the last episode and jump to the bit where Darth Plagueis reveals his ugly mug.
