Star Wars Legend Darth Revan Officially Debuts in New Series

An old friend returns

A legendary Sith Lord has just made his very first TV appearance; I’m talking about none other than Darth Revan.

The character can be seen in the recently released LEGO Star Wars: Rebuild the Galaxy - Pieces of the Past.

Don’t turn your nose up at the project just because it’s not canon.

If you enjoyed Telltale Games’ LEGO Star Wars: The Skywalker Saga, you’ll enjoy what’s on offer here.

It’s a fun new romp that captures the same sense of silly and whimsy.

LEGO Star Wars: Rebuild The Galaxy comprises four episodes and actually landed back in 2024.

Pieces of the Past is the second season and comprises an additional four episodes.

It features the TV debut of several characters, including Cal Kestis from Respawn Entertainment’s Jedi games, with actor Cameron Monaghan reprising the role.

Darth Revan is another character that appears, and he’s one with an interesting backstory.

Or I should say ‘backstories’, given that Darth Revan has been retconned in recent years.

If you don’t know, Darth Revan is a former Jedi Knight who turned to the dark side during the Mandalorian Wars - or at least that’s how he was written originally.

He was introduced in the beloved 2003 video game Knights of the Old Republic.

As of a 2019 reference book released ahead of Star Wars: Episode IX - The Rise of Skywalker, Darth Revan was established as simply an ancient Sith Lord.

Here, in Pieces of the Past, he appears within episode two.

It’s only a brief appearance but even still, if you’re a long-time Star Wars fan, this is pretty cool.

Darth Revan appears during a segment that sees Sig Greebling, Ahsoka Tano, Servo, Dev, Viper, and Jaxxon infiltrate Solitus’ - the main villain of the series - fortress.

There, the group encounters a Sith Obi-Wan Kenobi backed up by Darth Revan wielding his signature dual red and purple lightsabers.

The character doesn’t say a word, and that’s part of a joke that forms the scene’s dialogue, but it’s a fun little nod to Star Wars' wider lore.

All I can add is that I really hope this isn’t the last we’ve seen of Darth Revan.

A remake of Knights of the Old Republic is supposedly in the works but it’s not looking hopeful that it’ll ever see the light of the day.

Announced four years ago, the remake has been passed around from studio to studio, seemingly stuck in development hell.

It’s for this reason that I love series like LEGO Star Wars: Rebuild The Galaxy - Pieces of the Past.

Not every character can get their time to shine in mainline canon TV series, films, and games.

It’s fun little projects like this that allow fans to see characters from the franchise’s wider lore.

If you do fancy giving it a watch, all you need to do is head on over to Disney Plus.
