Over the years, surprisingly few actors have made the switch from DC to Marvel, and vice-versa, particularly considering just how big the productions on either side of the proverbial pond are.
One of the most notable examples would be Ben Affleck who famously starred as both Batman for DC and Daredevil for Marvel, neither of which proved to work out particularly well.
He is joined in those ranks by other big names including Halle Berry, who has taken to the screen as Storm in X-Men and as the titular Catwoman in the 2004 effort that famously went well wide of the mark.
Rounding out that list are actors like Jared Leto (Joker and Morbius), Tom Hardy (Bane and Venom), and Zachary Levi (Shazam and Fandral), but one more name could be about to be added to the list, and it might be the most controversial one yet.

Scarlett Johansson in Talks to Star in The Batman: Part 2
As first reported by Deadline, former Black Widow star Scarlett Johansson is reportedly eyeing a new role to play directly opposite Robert Pattinson in highly anticipated sequel The Batman: Part 2.
Sources reported that the Oscar-nominated Johansson is in the final stage of negotiations with the studio and director Matt Reeves for one of the new roles in the film, though what exactly that would be is unclear right now.
If you were keeping up with the MCU until Infinity War and Endgame, you'll know that Johansson's character is unlikely to reappear, given her violent end, unless appearances come via flashbacks or time shenanigans.
That potential future became even less likely after the actor sued Walt Disney Co. over an alleged breach of her contract, related to the simultaneous release of the Black Widow movie in cinemas and on Disney+.
Under a post sharing the news on DiscussingFilm's X (formerly Twitter) page, fans were clearly quite excited about the prospect.
"Let’s be real if anyone can brood in the rain, deliver a monologue about duality, and look good while kicking a dude through a window, it’s Scarlett Johansson. I’m seated," one comment read.
"Makes sense, her fall in Avengers: Endgame brought her to the DC universe through a portal," another added.
The movie itself is currently scheduled to release on 1 October 2027, though that's still such a long way away, don't count on there not being any delays between now and then.
