From new logos to Nintendo controllers: Inside Zelda's 40th anniversary celebrations
The Legend of Zelda is celebrating its 40th anniversary this year, but Nintendo is keeping the extent of the celebrations close to its chest.
Some projects and releases have been confirmed whereas others haven’t, but for all of Nintendo’s secrecy, some of the surprises have slipped through the gaps. Below you’ll find everything we know so far.

The Legend of Zelda Ocarina of Time Remake
This is the white whale; a remake of one of the best games of all-time. We’ve only been shown a small glimpse of it in action and are yet to see full-on gameplay, but we’re excited nonetheless.
Our expectations are high, and we're hoping to see the remake dive into the cut-content that never made it into the original game.
A commemorative Nintendo Switch 2 Pro controller
This was leaked a while ago, so take it with a pinch of salt, but apparently, a controller is set to be released that may or may not coincide with the Ocarina of Time remake.

However, it’s said it isn’t exclusively themed around Ocarina, rather, the Zelda series as a whole. Unfortunately the leak didn’t come with images.
The Legend of Zelda 40th anniversary logo
With this major milestone comes another development off the back of the aforementioned Pro controller.
Those who have seen it claim it features a brand-new logo for the series, and fans who created mock-up images were told they were pretty close to the actual image.
Legend of Zelda Hasbro toys
This is an exciting one for collectors. Hasbro will be releasing its first wave of Legend of Zelda figures next year based on Legend of Zelda: Breath of the Wild/Tears of the Kingdom.
Link, Zelda and Ganondorf will be amongst the first figures released, but we’ll be waiting with baited breath for their other incarnations from other games (there’s been a lot of them).
Sony’s live-action Zelda film
Technically this film releases in 2027, but we’ll likely get a trailer later this year as part of the anniversary festivities.
It currently stars Benjamin Ainsworth as Link, Bo Bragason as Zelda and Dichen Lachman as Impa. While the rest of the live-action Zelda movie cast is yet to be confirmed we have plenty of ideas.
