Millie Bobby Brown 'Eyed up by MCU', Perfect to Play X-Men Legend

Who do you want her to play?

Stranger Things lead Millie Bobby Brown is reportedly being eyed to play a major X-Men role.

Marvel’s X-Men reboot for the Marvel Cinematic Universe is still in its early stages, but we already have a few crumbs of information regarding the who, the what, and the when.

It’ll be directed by Thunderbolts' Jake Schreier, is expected to release after the conclusion of the multiverse saga, and is a full reboot of the X-Men franchise with a new cast of characters.

Legacy X-Men actors like Patrick Stewart and James Marsden aren’t expected to reprise their roles for this turn beyond their appearance in Avengers: Doomsday, so the team will be recast with an entirely new set of actors playing the mutants.

Casting details for who could play the X-Men is still under way, but a few reports already suggest the likes of Bella Ramsey and Tyler Hoechlin could join the cast.

A new report also suggests Stranger Things star Millie Bobby Brown is being “eyed up” for a role in the X-Men reboot.

“Millie Bobby Brown is being eyed to play an X-Men in the MCU reboot. Who do you want her to play?” reads a scoop from Hollywood insider MyTimeToShineHello.

Who Could Millie Bobby Brown Play In X-Men?

Though the scoop doesn’t suggest which character she’d be playing, there are a few options we feel might be right for her.

Many believe Jean Grey as a possible option. Grey is a major character in the X-Men franchise, and Brown has already proven herself at being able to lead a franchise with her role as Eleven in Stranger Things.

Both Eleven and Jean Grey have abilities like telekinesis and telepathy too, so she certainly has the experience down to be able to play a character like this.

However, Brown has also wrapped up her work on Stranger Things following completion of the show’s fifth season, so she may not want to jump back into another major franchise so soon after leaving one.

There’s also the possible issue of typecasting that may come from her playing an Eleven-like role in X-Men right after leaving the role.

Other roles suggested for her include Rogue and Psylocke. Depending on what kind of storylines Marvel wants to adapt for its first X-Men film, it may mean Brown’s role in the film could be a little less prominent, allowing her to avoid long shooting days.

The original Psylocke, Betsy Braddock, is British for example, and the role would allow Brown to use her native accent for the role.

Rogue, on the other hand, is initially introduced in the X-Men comics as an antagonist to the titular team, so Brown may wish to pursue a more villain-like character following her Stranger Things role to avoid being typecast.
