HBO’s The Last of Us star Bella Ramsey could be making their MCU debut in the near future, according to new reports.
It may have taken nearly two decades and a 20th Century Fox buyout by Disney, but it seems like the X-Men are about to make their debut within the Marvel Cinematic Universe.
Although both Marvel and Disney are keeping their lips tight regarding the who, the when, and the what—we have all the reason to believe the MCU’s new X-Men team will debut following Avengers: Secret Wars in 2027.
With Thunderbolts* director Jake Schreier set to direct, it now comes down to who will be cast in the major roles that make up each iconic X-Men character.

According to Hollywood insider DanielRPK (Daniel Richtman), HBO’s The Last of Us star Bella Ramsey is “being eyed for a big MCU role” (thanks, Dexerto).
Furthermore, scooper MyTimeToShine has claimed that this role could be Kitty Pryde, a member of the X-Men with the ability to phase through objects.

Ramsey is known for their breakout role as Lyanna Mormont in Game of Thrones, and later as the lead character Ellie in HBO's The Last of Us.

Ramsey hasn’t commented on their wishes to play an MCU role in the past, however they did tell LADbible in 2023 that they’d love to play a villain like DC’s The Joker.
“I've not really played a villain yet. So I want to play a baddy. But like a really interesting, intricate, complex baddy,” they said. “Yeah. I was actually thinking that as well. The Joker, someone really interesting like that.”
It’s likely we won’t know more about X-Men casting decisions until a little further down the line, at least until after Avengers: Doomsday releases in December 2026.
Some of the original X-Men cast members like James Marsden, Sir Ian McKellen, and Sir Patrick Stewart, are also due to reprise their roles in the upcoming Avengers film.

However, they’re not expected to become big mainstays in the wider MCU canon.
