The Last of Us star Bella Ramsey has expressed interest in the past on playing Spider-Man at some point in the future, and they’re doubling down.
Known for playing Ellie in the live-action adaptation of The Last of Us, Bella Ramsey has made waves online and endured an avalanche of hate from their portrayal of the character. Not being a fan of something is fine but to go a step further and harass the actor is out of line yet it hasn’t deterred them from pursuing other roles.
Last year when speaking to Variety, Bella said they’d love to play Spider-Man one day, and with rumours floating around that Avengers: Secret Wars will reboot the Marvel Cinematic Universe as we know it, that's now a possibility.
Speaking with Variety again at this year’s Critic’s Choice Awards they reiterated their desire to play the friendly-neighbourhood hero, saying: "I'm still up for it [but] I’ve not thought twice about it since [the previous interview]."

Personally I think Bella would be a great fit for the character, bringing great energy and commitment to the role.
They’d be a worthy successor for whenever Tom Holland decides to hang up the web-shooters, or if another multiversal Spider-Man crossover is in the works.
If Bella did join the MCU at some point down the line they’d be joining their fellow co-star Pedro Pascal, who of course plays one of the variants for Mr Fantastic.
I say variant because our first official MCU Mr Fantastic was played by John Krasinski in Doctor Strange: Multiverse of Madness. Pedro Pascal isn’t the only Last of Us star who plays a Marvel superhero either, as Gabriel Luna played Robbie Reyes’ version of Ghost Rider in Marvel’s Agents of S.H.I.E.L.D.
Right now though, Tom Holland is our MCU Spider-Man and returns this year for Spider-Man: Brand New Day, which sees Peter Parker struggle to balance his life as a man with his life as a superhero.
It’s unknown at the time of writing if Holland’s Spidey will be returning for Avengers: Doomsday and Avengers: Secret Wars, but given his huge presence in the MCU it’s likely he’ll at least appear in one of the Avengers films if not both of them.
Like I said though rumour has it that the MCU will be somewhat rebooted after our heroes defeat Doctor Doom, so Marvel starts looking for another Spider-Man they should look no further than the star of The Last of Us.
