Assassinās Creed Hexe will receive a major update in 2027, Ubisoft has confirmed, alongside a mysterious teaser that has left fans scratching their heads as they try to figure out what the cryptic messages could mean.
Ubisoft announced Assassinās Creed Hexe during its September 2022 Ubisoft Forward showcase, alongside Assassinās Creed Codename Red, which later became Assassinās Creed Shadows and was released in 2025.
However, aside from speculation and the occasional tidbit of information from Ubisoft, we haven't really heard much about Assassinās Creed Hexe since its original announcement. Thankfully, Ubisoft has promised a major update in 2027, alongside a rather cryptic tease following recent speculation about its main protagonist.
What Ubisoft has revealed about Assassinās Creed Hexe
āWe're making steady progress on this darker Assassin's Creed experience, though there is still work ahead of us. We know the wait has been long, and we're grateful for your patience and continued enthusiasm for the project,ā teased Ubisoft in a recent update.
āThe team remains focused on delivering the unique vision at the heart of this project, and we'll share our next major update in 2027. Until we're ready to share more, we'll keep enjoying your theories, discussions, and excitement as this experience continues to take shape.ā

Then, just underneath Ubisoftās update on Assassinās Creed Hexe, it had what appears to be two lines of code: āZKLWAVN MBEXNK ULYCNJ... LWY01... I#########Fā and ā// QNTMAKHX TWTEMZL. YSIZKQ AADSWX NFAAMPHP.//.ā
What does this Assassinās Creed Hexe coding mean?
At this time, we can only speculate, as Ubisoft has deliberately designed this tease to leave us all scratching our heads and discussing conspiracy theories on the internet (shocking, I know).
The website Final Weapon claims that fans have already managed to decode what some of the cryptic messages could mean. The alleged translation below certainly reads like something straight out of the Assassinās Creed series, particularly when it comes to the Animus, a device that allows users to access their ancestors' memories and essentially relive history.

The coding was reportedly partly solved with a VigenĆØre cypher with the key āMEPHISTOā. Interestingly, the word Mephisto appeared in translations in the original Assassinās Creed Hexe reveal trailer.

Thereās more, because some internet folk also believe that they uncovered what āB#########Tā means. Fans have theorised that this 11-letter word is āBLUTGERICHTā, which roughly translates to āBlood Courtā. This does sound like a term that could be used in a game that centres around witch trials and ancient dark magic, a known theme of Assassinās Creed Hexe.
Of course, we must take all the above with a pinch of salt until Ubisoft officially confirms otherwise, but itās always fun to speculate, and it feels like Assassinās Creed fans genuinely have something exciting to look forward to.
While we donāt have officially confirmed platforms just yet, thereās every chance that Assassinās Creed Hexe would be released on PC, PlayStation 5, Xbox Series X|S and Nintendo Switch 2.
