MCU fans may have just found their pick for the next actor to play Wolverine.
The Wolverine character has been closely associated with Hugh Jackman ever since his first outing as Logan in the 2000 film X-Men.
However, it’s fair to say that while Jackman was a perfect Wolverine (despite some height-related comic inaccuracies), the Marvel Cinematic Universe’s own Wolverine should be played by someone else.
Given that we now know Thunderbolts* director Jake Schreier will be directing Marvel’s X-Men reboot, it’ll be interesting to see which direction the studio goes when casting the next generation of the characters.

MCU fans have now found an actor that they deem perfect for the role, and to be honest, I could go either way on this idea.
Over on X (formerly Twitter), one user pitched the idea of actor Tyler Hoechlin playing Wolverine in the MCU.
Hoechlin played Superman in The CW’s Supergirl, before spinning off into his own television series, Superman & Lois.
Funnily enough, if cast, he wouldn’t be the first Superman actor to play Wolverine. Henry Cavill cameoed as an alternate version of the character in 2024’s Deadpool & Wolverine, after all.

“TBF, I see the vision and he can start the trend of Supermans becoming Wolverines,” wrote one user.
“Tyler Hoechlin should just be every guy ever he rules,” wrote another.
However, some fans were a little sceptical about it, saying the role should go to someone more accurate to the comics.
“When are we gonna give a short king his day?” wrote another fan. “They were robbed of it by Hugh Jackman for 20 years. They need to give the role to some jacked up 5'6 dude who can do flips.”

Perhaps it’s just me, but I don’t think Hoechlin is the best fit for the role. For starters, I’m not sure if he’d be interested in jumping right into another big superhero franchise after playing Superman for almost a decade.
He’s also 37 years old, and assuming Marvel will want the X-Men leading the MCU for the next 10-20 years, they might want to go with a younger actor.
