Stranger Things star Millie Bobby Brown has opened up about Eleven’s true ending in the popular Netflix series.
It’s probably fair to say that when Stranger Things first launched on Netflix in July 2016, very few could have predicted how much of a global phenomenon it would become over the years. Perhaps not even the show's creators, Matt and Ross, collectively known as the Duffer Brothers.
At the turn of 2026, Stranger Things finally came to an end after nine epic years, five seasons, and 42 episodes. As a fan, it’s always sad to say goodbye to a series you love, but I think it was time to call it a day; otherwise, Stranger Things may have been in danger of overstaying its welcome.
That being said, Stranger Things isn't quite done yet, because not only do we have a bonus documentary episode on the way, coming to Netflix this month with One Last Adventure: The Making of Stranger Things, but there is also a prequel series in the works.

Mild Stranger Things Spoilers Ahead
A lot has been said about the final episode of Stranger Things, ‘The Rightside Up,’ and that’s fair; we all have an opinion to share.
If I had one criticism, I believe the battle with Vecna and the Mind Flayer felt a bit rushed.

Other than that, I think it wrapped things up nicely for Mike, Dustin, Lucas, Max, Will and friends.
However, for Eleven, her ending was left very open for the audience to decide what happened to her. That being said, Mike did share his own theory about what his soul mate was up to. The question is, do you believe what he said?
Yet, as spotted by Comicbook.com, when speaking to Netflix Tudum, Eleven actor Millie Bobby Brown shared her thoughts on her character's ending.
Millie Bobby Brown said that Eleven’s ending was “so beautiful and cathartic,” adding, “I just think it’s incredibly important that it all ends for her, and the suffering and the pain end.

“I kinda love that ending, that there is just such a bigger purpose to Kali’s powers.
"Everything has a purpose, and everything is there for a reason.”
Sure, Millie Bobby Brown's words are very vague and don't reveal hardly anything, but at the very least, she seems happy with how her story concluded.
The entire series of Stranger Things is available to stream right now on Netflix.
