Marvel fans are mourning the loss of a character cut from a highly anticipated MCU movie, with some claiming to have cancelled their ticket.
Sure, cancelling a ticket for a character that probably wasn't set to play a leading role in a movie does seem a bit drastic, but to be fair, Marvel fans are a passionate bunch.
Next week, The Fantastic Four: First Steps arrives in cinemas starring Pedro Pascal as Mister Fantastic, Vanessa Kirby as Invisible Woman, Joseph Quinn as Human Torch and Ebon Moss-Bachrach as The Thing.
It also introduces Julia Garner as Silver Surfer and, for the first time in the MCU, “The Eater of Worlds” Galactus, played by Ralph Ineson.

However, there was another popular character who was set to star in The Fantastic Four: First Steps, and it’s Ivan Kragoff, better known as Red Ghost, a super-powered genius who rolls with a crew of super-powered apes.
Red Ghost is played by John Malkovich, but it looks like the old-school villain won’t feature in the movie after all; that's according to a new report from Variety.
“I just cancelled my ticket. How dare they disrespect Mr Malkovich,” exclaimed Redditor storksghast.
I’d be somewhat surprised if this person has actually cancelled their ticket for The Fantastic Four: First Steps, but their point was made nonetheless. How dare they besmirch Mr Malkovich!

“I don't think he had that big of a role,” replied Johnny0230, with Spider-Fan77 adding, “It wasn't. He basically only appeared at the beginning of the film. Still, sad to see an actor as good as Malkovich be cut.”
“If it makes for better pacing, then it's probably a good call,” said a sensible AdmiralCharleston. “I would love to see him as Red Ghost, but until we see the film, it’s impossible to make any calls on this decision.”
The Fantastic Four: First Steps arrives in cinemas on 25 July 2025.
