Marvel has confirmed that a popular MCU character is returning from the dead, and we’re thrilled.

From epic battles being won to love conquering all and heartbreaking deaths, comic book tales have taken us all on a rollercoaster ride of emotions over the years.

Just a heads up, I will be venturing into spoilers for Avengers: Endgame and the Disney Plus series Daredevil: Born Again, so please consider this to be your final spoiler warning

2019’s Avengers: Endgame is one of the best and most successful MCU movies of all time. From the verge of defeat, our expanded band of Avengers not only saved our planet but a multitude of universes, foiling Thanos’ plan once and for all.

However, that victory against Thanos came at a huge cost, with both Natasha Romanoff, aka Black Widow, and Tony Stark, aka Iron Man, sacrificing themselves for the greater good. While both of their deaths were heartbreaking, at least they had a purpose.

Yet, some characters are simply killed in an act of cold blood, a means to an end of a villainous scheme. One such death happened during the very first moments of the debut episode of Daredevil: Born Again.

That very death was Franklin Percy "Foggy" Nelson, best friend of Matt Murdock, aka Daredevil, and Karen Page. Foggy was shot in the heart by Benjamin Poindexter, aka Bullseye, and left to die on the sidewalk while his friends could do nothing but watch him take his last breath.

When will he return?

His death was very conclusive, but that hasn't stopped fans from hoping that Foggy might return in season two of Daredevil: Born Again. After all, in any comic book brand, being brought back from the dead is not new.

It’s been understandably believed that Foggy won't be returning, but that might not actually be the case. As reported by The Direct, Marvel Studios' head of television, Brad Winderbaum, had something very interesting to say at New York Comic-Con.

Brad Winderbaum reportedly confirmed that “Foggy is in season two” but added, “I don’t know what they’re allowed to say.”

It’s unclear how Foggy might return in season two. He could be revived from the dead, or he might appear in flashback scenes. Only time will tell.

Daredevil: Born Again is currently scheduled to be released sometime in March 2026 on Disney Plus. We’ll keep you posted when a solid release date drops.
