MCU is bringing back a popular Marvel character that fans have been waiting a long six years for, and we’re over the moon.

Earlier this year, Daredevil: Born Again was released on Disney Plus, seven years after it was unceremoniously cancelled in October 2018 following its third season on Netflix.

Many feared that this soft reboot would be a watered down version but nope, those concerns were thrown out of the window after viewers were shocked by what could be the most gory MCU scene ever.

Along with Daredevil on Netflix, other Marvel shows on the platform, namely Iron Fist (2018), Luke Cage (2018), Jessica Jones (2019), and The Punisher (2019), were also cancelled. Thankfully, at least, those series are now on Disney Plus.

While the future remains in doubt for most of those Marvel shows, we at least know that Daredevil: Born Again is getting a second season, and Jon Bernthal will be getting a new Punisher series.

However, we have further good news, well, kinda. As reported by Variety, Krysten Ritter is returning as Jessica Jones on Disney Plus but not in her own show but as a character in the second season of Daredevil: Born Again.

I love the Jessica Jones series, especially season one with David Tennant as the unnerving Kilgrave with a series-stealing performance. So with a bit of luck, much like Frank Castle’s cameo in episodes of Daredevil: Born Again, the same might happen with Jessica Jones.

The announcement of Krysten Ritter reprising the role of Jessica Jones was revealed during Disney’s upfront panel to advertisers in New York recently.

Alongside Daredevil actor, Charlie Cox, Ritter said: “It’s so great to be back, returning to Jessica after three seasons and The Defenders and now joining the MCU.”

“I’m so excited to bring back this iconic character, and without giving too much away, there is much more in store for Jessica Jones,” she continued. “This is going to be an incredible season.”

Daredevil: Born Again season two is set to arrive with eight episodes on Disney Plus in March 2026. The new Punisher series does not have a release date at the time of writing.
