Classic Marvel villain we haven't seen in 18 years finally making MCU debut

This has ignited our nostelgia

After so long away from our screens, we didn’t envision seeing this Marvel villain return in such a significant way.

Marvel is pulling out all the stops, it seems, despite its cinematic output being dramatically reduced this year.

With yet another Avengers 5 teaser promising a fan-favourite making their return, we’re getting incredibly hyped about the next stage of the MCU.

However, before those new Avengers films happen, we have a chaotically entertaining ride on our hands with Deadpool & Wolverine.

The post credit scene for the film already sounds wild, but there’s more to come before we reach the climax of Deadpool’s next outing.

Not long now until Deadpool & Wolverine is out in cinemas

Fans have likely spotted this villain in the trailer, however, on the off chance you haven’t, allow us to inform you that Pyro is back, baby!

Actor Aaron Stanford played the fiery Marvel villain in X2: X-Men United, and in X-Men: The Last Stand. And now, Pyro will make his MCU debut.

Understandably, Stanford is “very happy” to be back playing the part once more.

During an interview with Entertainment Weekly, Stanford said, “In X2, we start off with Pyro in Xavier’s School for Gifted Mutants; the SWAT team bursts in in the middle of the night and we have to flee.”

"For half the movie, I’m in my jammies. I never got the cool leather, tactical suit that all the X-Men wear [...] To have him [Pyro] be in a proper superhero costume that was actually taken from the comics themselves was very cool,” he added.

Pyro isn’t the only familiar face from the ghosts of X-Men past to show up in the new Deadpool movie – Sabretooth from the first X-Men film, played by Tyler Mane, will also appear.

The cameos don’t stop there either, though the director is keeping most returning characters under wraps.

Still, while we don’t know who else will show up, it’s fantastic to see Pyro back and ready to burn the world down.
