The time is nearly here. The long-awaited live-action team-up of Deadpool and Wolverine is arriving in cinemas in less than a month and already, we have details of what the movie’s post-credits scene could have been.

“Wolverine is recovering from his injuries when he crosses paths with the loudmouth, Deadpool. They team up to defeat a common enemy,” reads the synopsis of the highly anticipated and sure-to-be action-packed Deadpool & Wolverine.

Before we proceed, this article will not have spoilers for Deadpool & Wolverine as the post-credit scene that is the topic of this story has been reportedly scrapped from the movie. No doubt, Deadpool & Wolverine will have at least one post-credit scene, but it likely won’t be this one.

As reported by Comicbookmovie.com, details have reportedly emerged about the once-planned post-credit scene for Deadpool & Wolverine, and it was said to feature Roberty Downey Jr. Of course, this is a mere rumour at this time so it should be taken with a pinch of salt until proven otherwise.

There had been rumours that Robert Downey Jr was considered to play Doctor Doom in an MCU movie. Movie critic Devin Faraci claimed with that in mind, it had been discussed for Downey Jr to make a cameo in Deadpool & Wolverine in a post-credit scene which reportedly “didn't work out.”

Faraci explained: “It was supposed to serve as both a buildup for [Avengers:] Secret Wars and as a payoff to another scene that is still in the film, which I won't spoil.” Regardless of what the post-credit scene may or may not be for Deadpool & Wolverine, if it's a tease related to the upcoming Fantastic Four movie or Avengers: Secret Wars, I can’t wait to see it.

It’s possible that Roberty Downey Jr could still make some kind of cameo in the upcoming movie, but it might be safe to lower expectations. Deadpool & Wolverine arrives in cinemas on 26 July 2024.
