Great news, everyone! The Batman Part II is hitting cinemas in three months!
I mean, that’s what we were promised back in 2023, right? There’s no reason why the release date would have changed for any reason between now and then… right?
Ok, so, I’m gonna hit you with the sad truth early: yes, several outlets reported that DC’s upcoming sequel to the 2022 film The Batman starring Robert Pattinson, titled The Batman Part II, was supposed to hit cinemas on October 3rd, 2025.
Unfortunately, that is definitely, 100% not going to be the case anymore (and we’ve known that for quite some time).

Back at the start of 2023, a bunch of sites ran this story, including big names like Variety.
Well, I don’t know where they got that information from, because director Matt Reeves only just announced that the script for the film is actually done. Now I don’t know about you, but I reckon three months is perhaps a bit of a tight turnaround, production-wise.
Obviously, we won’t be seeing the film this year, but that’s not stopped several people on Twitter from making fun of the current, if you can call it that, release date.
Naturally, the comments are a mix of people who find this extremely funny or extremely upsetting (and a few people who, sadly, believe it to still be true).

“Hahahahahahah don’t do this to me,” commented user @DxTCinema.
“It should not take 5 years for a f**king movie,” replied user @dripbrian.
To be fair, several outlets reported that this information originally came directly from Warner Bros themselves, so I don’t think the writers of said articles are to blame for the misinformation.
Rather, this seems to be a case of Warner Bros jumping the gun. Perhaps, and this is a crazy thought, you guys should have announced the release date after the script was done? Just a thought.
