The Witcher 3 has got a new, and very cool, mod that gives you even more freedom for exploration. Yes, even more than travelling via Roach.

The mod allows you to tame and ride a griffin, exactly like the one you battle with at the beginning of the game.

The Witcher 3 was recently updated to perform better on new-gen consoles

Modder ‘apokryphos’ released the mod over on Nexus Mods for all players to use. And it’s super simple to summon the griffin in-game and travel the skies.

Once you’ve got the mod installed simply buy the summoning item from Bram in White Orchard, then use it whenever you want to summon the creature.

To ride it, just hold the interact button while standing next to it. Once you’re ready you can gallop as you would with Roach and then pull back the camera to take to the skies.

There are already lots of satisfied players who are flying all over the map on their new trusty companion.

The Witcher 3 is a huge game with a highly detailed world surrounding our Witcher, Geralt. Getting around the map is never normally a problem, but having a secondary choice of transport is a lot of fun.

Hopefully, we’ll start to see many more mods like this as CD Projekt Red recently launched REDkit on Steam which is a full set of modding tools based on the tools used when The Witcher 3 was first developed.

This will allow creators to start crafting and creating and we’ll begin to see everything from new items and weapons to new brand-new NPCs and questlines. The possibilities are endless when it comes to modding and the community will likely introduce us to many more ways to play.

To sign up to test the REDkit tools, simply search for it on Steam and apply.
