Star Wars Jedi: Survivor became April's best-selling game in two days

Star Wars Jedi: Survivor became April's best-selling game in two days beating out competition which included Dead Island 2.

This is an impressive feat. Star Wars Jedi: Survivor became April’s best-selling game after just two days.

These sales don’t tell the full story though as Star Wars Jedi: Survivor had somewhat of a rocky release. It may have sold well, but Jedi: Survivor was criticised upon release for its performance on PC. Console versions, although not perfect, ran much better. It soon led to a wave of review-bombing as fans slated EA. Thankfully, EA and Respawn have been very rapid in rolling out a number of patches fixing the worst of the game’s bugs and issues - including one boss which could permanently steal your XP.

Take a look at our video review of Star Wars Jedi: Survivor below.

As reported by IGN, these issues clearly didn’t hinder sales. Star Wars Jedi: Survivor was able to become April’s top-selling game in just two days. According to figures by Circana (via IGN), Dead Island 2 placed in second, followed by MLB: The Show 23, Resident Evil 4 Remake, Call of Duty: Modern Warfare II, Hogwarts Legacy, PGA Tour, Mega Man Battle Network Legacy Collection, FIFA 23, and Mario Kart 8 Deluxe.

Jedi: Survivor was April’s most major release, so it was to be expected that it’d end up topping the charts. EA are yet to share specific numbers though, although I’m imagining they will in due course. Even if you haven’t played Jedi: Survivor yet, I’m imagining you can’t have escaped the internet sensation that is Turgle. The character has quickly become everyone’s favourite froggy boi, spawning a ton of memes.

In our Jedi: Survivor review, we wrote, “Star Wars Jedi: Survivor is an exceptional sequel, improving on every gripe fans had with Fallen Order while adding countless new features in that’ll keep players engrossed for a long, long time. It’ll take something really special to come out to stop Survivor being the best action/adventure game of 2023.”
