Star Wars Jedi: Survivor will have ‘weeks’ of bug fixes warns publisher EA, which has alarmed fans.

It’s pretty much a given nowadays that even the best of developed games will have post-launch patches. After all, even the best games can have unforeseen issues when released into the big wide world. However, some games have been released in such a poor state that it must have been impossible not to know of the issues beforehand. Examples that come to mind are Cyberpunk 2077, No Man’s Sky and Days Gone. Though to be fair, each of those three games is in a much better state now and perhaps what both the developer and fans had envisioned.

Check out our review of Star Wars Jedi: Survivor below.

So with that in mind, it should come as no surprise that Star Wars Jedi: Survivor, developed by Respawn Entertainment, will require some post-launch love after it releases this week. As reported by GamesRadar, in a tweet shared by the official EA Star Wars account, it warned that patches will be deployed in the coming weeks to fix known issues.

“Cal’s newest journey in a galaxy far, far away has begun and we’re excited for you to experience it!” reads the tweet. It continues, “Our first patch will arrive on launch day across all platforms. In the weeks ahead, we’ll deploy patches that will fix bugs, improve performance, [and] add more accessibility features. Stay tuned for more updates."

It's the word 'weeks' that's got alarm bells ringing. It seems that some of the issues mentioned in the tweet should be nothing that major. However, one follower asked the reasonable question: “Couldn't there just be a delay instead of releasing something you know is buggy and having performance issues?” to which someone simply replied, hitting the nail on the head, “Shareholders”.

Star Wars Jedi: Survivor arrives tomorrow on 28 April 2023 for PC, PlayStation 5 and Xbox Series X/S. Sadly, Star Wars Jedi: Survivor is not coming to PS4 or Xbox One.

In our review of Star Wars Jedi: Survivor, we said it’s “an exceptional sequel, improving on every gripe fans had with Fallen Order while adding countless new features in that’ll keep players engrossed for a long, long time. It’ll take something really special to come out to stop Survivor being the best action/adventure game of 2023.”
