I’m going to say something a little controversial, I’m not the biggest fan of the Jedi: Survivor games.
They’re well-made and look fantastic, and given that I’m a Star Wars fan and a Dark Souls fan these souls-lite games set in a galaxy far, far away should be something I vibe with right? Unfortunately not, as while I’ve played through both and enjoyed them the gameplay did nothing for me, even though they mirror other games I’m fond of. However, something I really enjoyed is the story.
Cal Kestis is an excellent addition to the Star Wars canon and I’m excited to see what becomes of him in Star Wars: Jedi 3, as we still don’t have a title yet. Now online leakers reckon that’ll soon change, and that the third entry in Cal Kestis’ intergalactic journey will land as soon as this year. Yes, you read that right, this year.

Via ScreenRant, Kinda Funny's GameCast host Tim Gettys spoke about the third Jedi game and said: "The Jedi Survivor sequel I think has a solid chance of coming out this year.
"I don't think it's a slam dunk, but I just wonder where that would fall. Summer Game Fest and then or before that, maybe as I can see that game being announced in May and then coming out in September."
Personally I think this is wishful thinking but stranger things have happened. Shadowdrops for instance are becoming more and more common after Bethesda has success with The Elder Scrolls IV: Oblivion Remastered, and it’s clear that gamers are getting sick of the long waits for games like Grand Theft Auto 6.
I often miss the days when a game would be worked on in secret, announced at some event and reveal a release date only a few months away rather than several years out.

Star Wars: Jedi Survivor launched in 2023 so it feels safe to speculate that Respawn Entertainment has been working on the third entry since then, meaning a 2026 release isn’t entirely out of the question.
Again I doubt it but it would be a pleasant surprise, and a smart move given how so many developers are fighting for release windows this year. What better way to combat that than spring a new game on the competition, especially one tied to a massive IP like Star Wars.
I may not have all the love in the world for the Star Wars: Jedi series but I’m still excited to see where it’s heading next, and if it turns out to be this year that’d be yet another banger for 2026’s expanding repertoire of games.
