Star Wars Jedi fans are gearing up and marking their calendars for a big announcement in May 2026.
Next month, there’s a huge day for Star Wars fans, whether it’s a new video game, TV or movie announcement, or just generally showing love for the galaxy, far, far away. We’re of course talking about 4 May, more commonly known as May the 4th.
Sometimes, our expectations are a bit too lofty when it comes to Star Wars announcements. That being said, I’m sure we’d all love to get an update on the much-troubled Star Wars: Knights of the Old Republic remake. However, while that is unlikely, another game has a much better chance of making an appearance on 4 May 2026.
In February 2024, Electronic Arts confirmed that Star Wars Jedi 3 was in production, the highly-anticipated follow-up to Star Wars Jedi: Fallen Order and Star Wars Jedi: Survivor. However, further news on the third game has been pretty much non-existent, at least officially.

Advert
There were rumblings that it could be revealed at The Game Awards 2025, but sadly, that did not come to fruition. What’s more, there are rumours that Star Wars Jedi 3 might be released sometime in 2026.
While we wait on official news regarding Star Wars Jedi 3, excited fans are already marking their calendars, just in case.
“How many times have you guys played Fallen Order and Survivor in anticipation of Jedi 3? I personally can't wait!” asked Redditor EugeneOrthodox.
“I’ve played each one three times. I’m really hoping they announce something on May 4th,” replied Super-Flanders.
“Even if it’s not a release date, I’ll take anything they want to announce or reveal,” exclaimed Shark2ooth.
“I hope it’s a release date, or at the very least a trailer. We know that it’s at least in production, so hopefully they don’t just re-announce that it’s in production/development without letting us know when it’ll be released,” added Super-Flanders.
“Usually they release a cinematic teaser first and six to 12 months later a gameplay trailer,” explained Jaymacia. “But I don't know if we'll get something this year. I certainly hope so. Although rumours suggest, we might even have to wait until 2028."
It's been three years since the last instalment in the series landed, so we are at least due a reveal even if we do have to wait a few more years for a third entry to arrive.
Whether it’s 4 May or some time after, whenever EA or developers, Respawn Entertainment make a big announcement on Star Wars Jedi 3, we’ll be sure to let you know.
If 4 May doesn't deliver, there is D23 - Disney's biannual convention - which is due to be held this August as well as the usual Summer Games Fest and Gamescom Opening Night Live throughout the summer.
