There’s some good news within this article, but it’s overshadowed by a large chunk of bad news, unfortunately.
Let’s start with the good news, eh? And that’s the announcement that the next part in the Star Wars Jedi series is still in production from Respawn Entertainment.
The third part of the Star Wars Jedi series is still in production.
The next, and possibly final, part of Cal Kestis’ adventure is on target, and should be with us in the coming years.

This is despite a huge staff shakeup at Respawn Entertainment, courtesy of EA Games, which is the bad news.
That shakeup comes as over 300 employees across EA are laid off, including over 100 at Respawn Entertainment, who were previously working on several titles, including an extraction shooter in the Titanfall universe.
You can read the statement from Respawn over on Twitter, where fans are heartbroken to see so many jobs cut, and projects cancelled.
“If this means Titanfall 3 was cancelled for Apex Legends I will lose it,” said one fan.

A statement from EA reads, “As part of our continued focus on our long-term strategic priorities, we’ve made select changes within our organisation that more effectively aligns teams and allocates resources in service of driving future growth.”
Sounds like just another day in the video game industry, to me.
More layoffs dressed up as an alignment of future growth, despite the profitability of EA Games being seen as strong.
For no reason at all, let’s mention that EA Games CEO Andrew Wilson makes an annual salary of around $1.3 million, and in the fiscal year of 2024, he took home around $20.4 million in stock awards.

I wonder how much a developer on a Titanfall extraction shooter makes, just out of curiosity.
According to Game Developer, the average EA employee was paid a median wage of $148,704, which means CEO Andrew Wilson was paid approximately “172 times more than your median EA worker".
